Happy Halloween, internet! As you all should know this is one of my favorite holidays ever. What other day can you drink, party, eat obnoxious amounts of candy, all while dressing up. But throughout all the good times I fear we have forgotten why we do these activities today. I feel it is my responsibility to bring us all back to the roots of this great day.
Halloween is a day of great importance. Every year on October 31st we celebrate the life and birthday of Eve Hallows, the founder of the worlds oldest profession, prostitution. Based out of a bordello in what is now Europe, she single handedly started the tradition of selling pleasure. Being the most successful woman in her business at the time, she had many callers, and all with different tastes. To ensure business, she would ofter dress up with different persona's in fear of losing customers. On one fateful day, Eve was brutally murdered by a woman whose husband was caught with her in only a home-made futuristic cowboy costume. The townsfolk, realizing that Eve was only doing her job, came together and mourned the loss of their great pioneer.
Every year since then people around the world honored her in several ways. Men would dress up in their favorite costumes and women would try to dress up as the prostitute herself. Since there are no recorded pictures of Eve, women would dress differently from one another in hopes to attract the different types of costume-ed men. The people would come out at night and drink in Eve's honor and have contests to see who was honoring her the best by wearing to best outfit.
As the years passed and the socially acceptable age of marriage and reproduction lengthened, the younger people were starting to be left out. In order to preserve the memorial, younglings would dress up and go door to door asking for a pittance in the form of sweets. This was to ensure the proper observance of the holiday while still preserving the innocence of youth. As people got older there was no longer a need for the attraction of the opposite sex nor sweets. The elderly now pay tribute to Eve by handing out small denominations of pennies wrapped in tissue to give the children in hopes they remember Eve's noble entrepreneurship.
So as this year's Halloween comes around and I hit the bars as tradition states, I encourage all the guys to put on their best costumes, and girls to be the sluttiest they can so that we may pay homage to Eve Hallows, the worlds greatest working woman.

If at First You don't Succeed, Wait for Your Hangover to Go Away
So last night was uneventful and today I have felt like hell. So far the plan is to go to Baltimore tomorrow night and hit up the bars downtown. I'm bringing my iPhone so I will have some live broadcasts, videos, and plenty of pictures. So small post today, but I will get some more stuff up here tomorrow.
Again if anybody knows a good place to hang tomorrow, then leave me a comment or DM me on Twitter.

I Went to Enter a Contest and all I got was this Blog Post
So I set out tonight on a mission. That mission was to be the best costume-ed person in all of the Baltimore/Washington area. Unfortunately I did not want to make the faux pas of going to this type of event all by my undead self. So here I am now at a bar with the worlds best costume and no ducketts to be won. I will try again tomorrow in the hopes that the costume contest circuit will learn to fear the name Christain Goff.
Seeing as how I won't be beaten by this I still would like to know what else is going in in the area this week. So bounce back in the comments or @ me on Twitter. Keep you guys updated!

Goin for the Gusto
I figured out what I am going to do with my fall vacation. Being the make-up guy for an undisclosed theme park's Halloween event, I think it is time I used my talent the best way I know how, by trying to win as many costume parties I can this week. I'm gonna hit the town and grab as many prizes, money, and free stuff I can get my undead hands on. This will also be the first time I will post some pics up here.
Now that you guys know my plans, I havae two questions: 1. Where do I go? and 2. Who's coming with me? We should definitely make it a team thing so leave a comment if you want to join us, or if you can't make it then let me know where to go. I will post my results up here and as always live updating on Twittter. See you all at the finish line.

My Multimedia Revolution
I hit a landmark today: 4500 songs and 200 movies in my iTunes collection. According to iTunes that's almost a straight month without seeing or hearing the same thing twice. That is borderline obnoxious. So you are asking yourself, "Self, why does someone need a collection like that"? Well knowing that I am always doing a new videography project you never know what piece of audible art you may need. Now granted there is some absolute crap in this collection, but there is also some really swank stuff. I encourage people to reach out and discover new music. A good start is the iTunes single of the week free download. I have found several artists that have ben under the radar too long. Another method is compilation searching. If you like an artist, see who they have teamed up with n the past. Odds are they may have something in common. Either way it always fun to explore new artists.
My next step is trying to find a way to hack my appleTV to get more storage space so I have access to all this bric-a-brac on my home theater. Leave something in the comment field if you have any suggestions, and if not, then I will find a way and post it here for a reference. See you tomorrow.

So Where Have I been?
Summer was very busy for me. Spent a lot of my time at work, rearranged my house to make it livable, and in my spare time, I tried to reap the benefits of being single in Annapolis. That's not to say I haven't had my fun. Got to check out some sporting events, went mountain climbing, and wishing friends happy birthday. Most os this stuff was logged on Twitter and Facebook while it happened. When I get the chance I'll try to post some stories but for now I will focus on the day-to-day stuff. So Leave some thoughts/comments/suggestions here or DM me on Twitter/Facebook or you can email me whatever you please. See you guys next time.
My Pledge
I know, I know. Its been a long time since I touched this thing, and for that, I apologize. I have been...well...distracted this summer. I've learned a lot these few months, and I feel the need to start once again sharing my thoughts and experiences with the internet. So here is my promise to the tech world: one a day. I will try my best to post on here at least once a day even if it is insignificant. I have a lot to say and I want to see how many people are interested in reading it. so with that being said/typed, this train is done waiting in the station and is now full steam ahead. As always I update my microblog constantly at www.twitter.com/christiangoff and I am now updating my facebook profile as well. I hope you all didn't miss me too much, but I am back!

Where This is Going
Not that I have ammased a small fortune in advertising revenue ($.63)
and have taken on a full staff of editors (hi big bro) I have decided
push this Internet to a whole new level. Later this week I will be
launching a new website dedicated to helping people get more
functionality out of everyday technology. Having said that I will
remove that section of this blog and retain it solely as a personal
page. I'll still post regularly and throw in a few Easter eggs for
loyal fans (or even my fans).
This is still in the works and hopefully we will be live soon. Until
the time comes when it is launched check back here for the usual
banter and nogoodnicks.

The new iPhone?
I have an iPhone. I love my iPhone. It is one on the greatest pieces of technology I have ever owned. It has that sleek, sexy allure and an intuitive interface that has changed mobile computing. That's right...computing. I now use my phone as a phone only about twenty percent of the time I am on it. The rest of the time I am checking email, surfing one of the internets, or playing games. I even twitter and blog from it.
With that being said, there is mass speculation of a new iPhone being announced today. There have been numerous rumors from sites like Macrumors about the features. I'm excited to see what the final verdict is. This is what I am looking for to determine wether or not I fork over the geek tax to the technical commonwealth of Apple:
3G support
Like I said, my phone is a computer before it is a phone. If I get access to my information with the blazing speeds of the late '90s rather than EDGE then there are more opportunities for better applications. I am a media whore and would love the opportunity to stream my media wherever I am. Uploading videos to my Vimeo or YouTube account takes a ridiculous amount of time. 3G support will cut my upload time from forever and a day to just shy of a day (again speeds that my modem is scoffing at). Don't get me wrong. I am still exited for the upgrade in speed, it just should have been there all along. If the premise of the Apple talk box is mobile computing then this is feature that is a necessity and the first upgrade I am looking for.
GPS
Google Maps is great, no, phenomenal! It is by far my most used app on my phone. Locate Me is a great and useful tool to find places near where you currently are. All I ask now is that you get me there, phone. If I ever have to use a paper map, or even worse, remember how to get somewhere, then my technology has failed me. GPS is much more precise than Locate Me. My current MapApp told me to take a U-turn on I-95 to get to a bar I wanted to go to. I tell you what, people looked pissed. I hate it when people are mad at me so this is why I want to see GPS on the iPhone.
Camera Stuff
In case you missed it. I am a media whore. Why do I need to hack my iPhone to take video that is worse quality than middle school text book corner flip books (also without audio). This is a no brainer. Record video, send it via 3G tubes, and everyone can play. MMS FTL on the original iPhone. Apple...come on...fix that. Video and picture messaging are staples. The work around is ok, but my friends should have to think through an additional step to send me a picture I can't even save on my phone. But it is a good way to determine the real friends are willing to do so. Show me video so we can all bury this mistake.
Until Jobsy takes the stage in S.F. today (one hour as of this post), we will not know where specifically mobile tech is going. But if the new phone has what I mentioned up top then I am sold. I'll post a poll so you can tell the world what ya thinks. As always, leave some comments to help me improve my content.

Let's Get Started
Hello InterNets! I'm setting up this blog for several reasons. First, I am a shameless self promoter. Second, I have had and continue to have experiences people might want to know about. Third, I have been around things like technology and media that I want to offer my tips and insight to the general public.
Why a blog, you ask? Because the internet is available to anyone who wants it to be. Here we can talk about whatever we want for however long we want. I plan on using my little tube of the web to share ideas and experiences without bias.
With all that out of the way lets get started with the basics. My social sites.
christiangoff.blogspot.com (think you got that already)
twitter.com/christiangoff
flickr.com/photos/christiangoff
I'll post my myspace and facebook links once I update the pages.
So that's the intro. Please leave comments if you have any suggestions. It should be a fun ride, just as long as I stick to it. See ya on the nets.
